The two year programme in Food is based on providing students with opportunities to learn, and practice, basic life skills as well as working within the Technological Practice strand of the Technology Curriculum. The students work with practical hand-on activities using literacy and numeracy skills specific to Food Technology, alongside learning to develop ideas using planning, problem solving and time management skills.
In Year 7 students are introduced to basic skills in context and begin to explore the concepts of Planning for Practice in Technology.
In Year 8 the students build on prior knowledge continuing to develop practical skills and are provided with the opportunity to become independent learners through their own planning, and implementation of this programme.
